week 9 and 10

Well I'll be honest...this blog may fluctuate from weekly postings to bi-weekly postings. We are just so busy in the art room...and sometimes we stay on the same project for a few weeks.

Kindergarten and first grade students continue to work on their collage (robot & butterfly project) and we are crossing our fingers that they will be completed next week. Some students already have their projects done and they are turning out really well...more to come on that next week. Some robots projects are already finished at Corse Elementary.

Second and third grade, have jumped into fall by creating glue line pumpkins on black paper and are using chalk to learn about value, shading, layering, and blending.  They seem to enjoy getting messy with chalk. Third graders at Corse are creating glue line self-portraits, which will be interesting.

Fourth and Fifth grade are done with their long project of Wayne Thiebaud inspired Dessert drawings.  They will go up in the hallways this week and next. They have started creating glue line drawings. This is a quick project for them and will be completed in three or four sessions.

Please feel free to stop in and see me at conferences on Tuesday, October 30th.

Here are some beautiful pumpkins for you all to enjoy during this lovely Autumn we are having!!!!
